Peavey Transtube Rage 258 1x8 Combo Amplifier
The Peavey Transtube Rage 258 1X8 combo amplifier is one of the best practice amps within its range. With 25 watts going into an 8 inch Blue Marvel speaker, the Peavey Rage is able project plenty of sound. The Peavey Rage 258 is built with two switchable channels, which can be changed from lead to clean. The amp also features Peavey's Transtube emulation circuitry for a vintage tube tone. You get a killer amp with widely ranged dynamics and natural vintage grit that will take you soaring back to another era. The Peavey Transtube Rage acts exactly the same as an original tube tone amplifier would do. The perfect amp for any rehearsal space.
The Peavey PersonalityPeavey have designed their amplifiers to produce good quality tone that offers plenty of punch. The clean channel really sounds beautifully crystal clear, is able to sing harmonic content, and is great for any genre from blues to classic rock to jazz. The Peavey personality is certainly versatile and can handle heavier genres with ease, from heavy rock, to punk, to metal. You get a killer amp with widely ranged dynamics and a natural vintage grit, just like the original tube amplifiers.
Transtube HistoryPeavey spent a lot of time recreating tube tone and taking into account each factor that needed to be considered like the entire component chain and how each one interacts with the others. The damping factor and the corresponding speaker response has to be the same as an original tube tone amplifier. It's about power amp compression, how the amplifier breaks up when driven hard, and the harmonic structure and non-linear gain stages. Factors that were taken into consideration when building the transtube amps were cabinet size, bracing, wood, and thickness. After years of research and experimentation, Peavey then brought to the world an incredibly versatile, well rounded, transtube amplifier, built to be perfect for almost any gig environment.
Two Channel PeaveyThe Peavey Transtube Rage has a range of controls and is all you need for the perfect rehearsal setup. The Rage 258 gives you the option of playing lead tones with a vintage grit or a modern stack twist. Within the lead section of the amp, there are turning dials for pre gain and post gain which add extra noise when driven hard. Features 3 position EQ voicing switch which is also great for blues. The preamp section tailors gain to meet the players need for any amount of drive, from crystal clear, to thick, smooth sustain. The power amp reacts just the same as a tube output section by responding to the preamp with natural compression that gets bigger as the amp gets louder. Featuring AUX input/direct output, meaning you can plug your smart phone or tablet into the amplifier to play along to a backing track or for use as a louder speaker. The direct output gives you the opportunity to be able to plug in from the direct output to a recording device, whether it may be your own recording equipment or studio gear you can record your live performance with the AUX input/direct output plug in. The Peavey Rage comes with a headphone input, providing the opportunity to play through the amp to yourself, play around with settings and effects, and have a silent practice on those later evenings in with your piece of wood.
Classic Peavey StylingThe Peavey Bandit has an open back which shows off the incredible 8 inch Blue Marvel speaker, adding to the beautiful exterior it already maintains. From Peavey's past and present, they have carried the original Peavey look right through to today. It has signature picture frame edges which are reinforced to protect the structure of the amp. The amplifier also has a silver/black woven mesh front with silver panels parallel to one another which provides more edge to the Peavey look. Centralised and mounted onto a black rim sits the classic Peavey hieroglyphics screaming everything rock 'N' roll. In the right hand top corner is an easy accessible on/off switch with the Rage 258 hieroglyphs and the classic Transtube logo. The outer layer of the Peavey Bandit is a solid hard-wear material with attached comfy carry handle that fits right into the structure of your hand.
